My first attempt at blogging.
Who else noticed that I have a really long name? I was born in 2001 and apparently three first names for a child was definitely the trend back then. Everybody calls me Myka until I started introducing myself as Grace when I entered university. I didn't really have any special reason why I did a sudden rebranding. Some day I might just change it again and use Kassandra just for the fun of it. I have options!
Introduction
Now that I've said hello to the world, it’s time to properly introduce myself. I go by a lot of titles including, but not limited to, a visual artist, a future chemist, a business woman, and a travel vlogger. I am also a Loan Agent and Financial Empowerment Advocate. Welcome to my blog!
I'm a self-taught artist who is still in the process of figuring out my artistic identity. The subjects of my artworks are usually elements that have feminine qualities, such as women and nature. I'm especially fond of the element of water. I like how it behaves and how it animates a painting. It has movement, emotions, and depth, much like a person -- very much like a Cancer! I was born in the month of July, which makes me a Cancer woman who is creative, emotional, nurturing, and self-protective.
A Cancer woman's heart is a wellspring of love, overflowing with tenderness, compassion, and a desire to nurture and protect.
If I'm not painting, I'm either hunched in front of my laptop studying for hours and hours or binge watching movies or anime. I am a Chemistry major at my dream university and it took me a while to love my degree program. I wanted to take Fine Arts at first because my interest and passion lie in that field, but apparently fate had other plans for me. I hated it at first but when I entered the chemistry laboratory and started doing lab activities, a switch flipped. Contrary to popular belief, being a chemist is fun!
Chemistry is the scientific identification and investigation of the substances that make up matter. In this branch of science, we study the properties and behavior of matter.
Balancing school and part-time work was definitely challenging, but it helped open the door for me to become a business woman. I started out as an administrative assistant in our family businesses when I was still in high school, and I still am. I also challenged myself to establish something I can call my own -- so I started Isla Solara PH, an online boutique.
Isla Solara PH is an online jewelry boutique, a source for handpicked jewelry and accessories that radiate the unique style of a Filipina. Check out our jewelries here.
I'm also a travel enthusiast, although I haven't been to a lot places. My favorite spots to visit are beaches and one of the most memorable experiences I had was at Rose Beach in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental. It was such a special place for me. The only struggle I have at being a beginner travel vlogger is the vlogging process itself. I have been to more places recently but I missed my chances to film a video because I was either having too much fun or feeling too embarrassed to take my camera out. Travel vlogging isn't easy because travelling and vlogging are two very different tasks. However, my Youtube channel still thrives! I'll be making more and better videos soon, I'm sure.
This will be my first attempt at blogging. Here is where I'll be sharing my passions and learned lessons about business, finances, and marketing. I'll be sharing with everyone my progress, failures, and successes.
Next Chapter
I'll be sharing more about Financial Literacy Education, so you can definitely look forward to that!
